CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

SCULPT DNA
This highly intelligent body sculpting class is all about reforming imbalances in the body. This core-conditioning, muscle-toning workout focuses on developing deep core strength, balanced joint stabilization and active isolation in our often weakest or overlooked areas. Our sculpting classes use our signature Double Helix ladder, exercise bands, dumbbells, yoga asana & bodyweight- or often a combination of all these modalities!
We will perform a combination of traditional weight-training moves in a class setting, as well as some cutting edge new body weight and movement techniques for creating balanced strength and liquid mobility in the body.

​STRETCH + TRACTION
The unsung hero of a typical gym and yoga studio roster is the stretch class. Repeatedly passed over for spin, boot camp, or yoga flow, our Stretch & Traction class can help you prevent injuries, relieve tension, improve alignment as well as a multitude of other health benefits. Using our signature Double Helix ladders, we will teach you how to properly mobilize and stretch muscle fibers and how to safely tractions and unload compressed joints.
*We ask all practitioners with joint injuries to clear traction with their doctor.

SLOW FLOW & SOMATIC STRETCH (coming in April)
A sweet yang/yin combination. Get your yoga flow and then melt into a rejuvenating restorative practice.
Each class revolves around a particular focus that is explored through the modalities of Vinyasa, fluid yin, and restorative yoga. Vinyasa is breath linked to movement, still emphasizing form and alignment. Flow through the first part of class then move to gentle, low to the ground, supported poses that restore our alignment and reconnection to the bliss body that is always deep within. Fluid Yin poses are held longer, focus on ligaments, connective tissue, and joints. Slow Flow is often described as a yummy, gentle flow and offers the best of both worlds; a great way to move, release, then relax.

SOLAR FLOW I
An empowering, deep-diving yoga-inspired class that skillfully alternates an all-levels powerful flow with restful, restorative poses to help the body revitalize & reconnect. Calling upon her deeply researched background in movement, Abbe's flow based class pulls is aspects of yoga, animal flow, budokon and plyometrics. In this class we explore some of the universal concepts of inquiry, alignment and effort in the body- the big ideas of how to move better, advance mindfully and work efficiently. Expect to focus on breath, alignment, and mindful movements.

SOLAR FLOW II
An empowering, deep-diving, yoga-inspired class that skillfully alternates a level II powerful flow with restful, restorative poses to help the body revitalize & reconnect. Calling upon her deeply researched background in movement, Abbe's flow based class pulls is aspects of yoga, animal flow, budokon and plyometrics. We build the basic framework for safe and sustainable advanced postures and techniques by discovering their gateway poses, transitions and integrating basic biomechanics and mindset.
We also deepen our understanding of the practice with history, meditation and theory woven delicately throughout our class. Expect an extended meditation sometimes enhanced with tools such as sounds, chants or guidance.
Part asana lab, part personal exploration. Expect to sweat, laugh, learn & be challenged!

SYMPATHETIC TONING
Your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems need a workout, too! Our nervous systems deal with an onslaught of information all day. They are our major processing system as they coordinate contracting one muscle while relaxing another, balancing your body, keeping a firm grip to deep breathing- And thats just the work the nervous system does with our physical movements, Its also responsible for stress reduction, sleep cycles and happy hormones. Learning how to properly tone your nervous system will give you a LIFETIME of benefits, as it will release locked muscles, reduce inflammation, encourage sound sleep and help you navigate through stress and depression.
A floor-based, slow moving class where we shift emphasis into mindful movements, long holds, neuropathic pressure points and deep breath work, thusly toning our nervous system and relieving all forms of embodied tension.

HOLY ROLLER
Introducing our signature HOLY ROLLER: Myofascial Release and Foam Rolling Class. The most overlooked component of injury prevention and fast progress is soft-tissue quality. Prep your muscles for a workout, treat day-to-day stiffness and loosen things up with our MFR & Foam Rolling Class. Here we discover trigger points in the muscles. Trigger points are sore spots that form within muscles or tendons. Foam rolling is a way of massaging away muscle soreness in trigger points, and preparing your muscles for deeper stretching and movement efficiency. Holy Roller foam rolling classes teach a form of myofascial release that you can also do on your own, using the roller to release muscular tension without needing the help of a massage therapist.

ALTERNATIVE MOVEMENT
Abbe’s favorite class! Alternative Movement is at its core, movement improvement! Learn the tricks, games, tools and drills to build balanced full-body strength and optimal mobility. In this light-hearted, playfully guided class, you learn to build a capacity to move and flow naturally in a fun and safe environment; Gain Coordination, Motor Skills, Endurance, Strength, Agility, Flexibility, Balance, and Control all the while improving adaptability and body awareness. Develop your own ultimate movement journey based on your goals!
We integrate elements of Animal Locomotion, Budokon, Ido Portal's Movement Culture and Coordination Exercises & games (yes, we said games!) No experience necessary in any of these styles, just a willingness to learn and a playful attitude!

ANIMAL FLOW 101
Created by Mike Fitch, Animal Flow is a trademarked bodyweight program that's centered largely around ground-based work. ​Animal Flow is bodyweight workouts, made fun, challenging and effective. This system is designed to improve strength power, flexibility, mobility, and coordination for all levels of fitness enthusiasts, and it requires no equipment!

SUPPLE YIN
​
Supple Yin is a healing, gentle practice for anyone who is looking to improve flexibility and joint health while calming and training the mind. In this class floor poses are held for extended periods of time with the muscles relaxed to allow gravity time to work on the muscles, connective tissue, joints, and even the bones. This practice can actually be therapeutic for certain kinds of joint-pain, the long gentle holds allow joints to be worked in a safe and therapeutic manner. Because of the nature of the long holds it is a great time for inner-reflection and meditation as well as developing a deeper awareness of both the body and the breath. The poses themselves also begin to cultivate flexibility in the very same areas that one would need flexibility in to be able to hold an upright meditation posture for an extended period of time.

START HERE (coming in April)
​YOGA & MOVEMENT 101: A Beginner's Series. Yoga is a powerful mode of exercise. It’s associated with an almost endless list of substantial health and fitness benefits and one of the best aspects of all is that you can practice almost anywhere.
While there is a lot to learn, discover and explore in the tradition of yoga, it is best to start simply and not let yourself be overwhelmed. This is a 6-week progressive series where the fundamentals are learned in a safe and fun environment. Designed where each class clearly builds up the previous and upon completion each student will be able to unroll their mat in most yoga classes and know what to expect without being completely lost.
Beginner
